Our Salon Waste

Always a hot topic in our every day lives. Waste, Rubbish, Refuse and at Fine to Fabulous we create alot of waste from hair clippings to foils to packaging. We want to do our bit for the planet. Therefore, we have teamed up with Green Salon Collective to manage our waste with eco-friendly initiatives.

Where our waste goes?

Hair

We all know that if hair is long enough we can donate it for wigs. But what about the 99.9% of hair that isn't long enough?

There are many ways to recycle hair including making hair booms and hair mats as well as using it for gardening and composting.

Metal

Foils from hilites, balayages and all the thousands of metal colour tubes we use can be recycled. Our local council cannot recycle these dirty foils with chemicals on them or the empty tubes with traces of colour. However Green Collective Salon has saved the day and we can send all this to them. Along with hairspray cans and many styling products made from metal.

Paper / Cardboard

We will continue to use Brighton & Hove Council recycling service for all our paper & cardboard recycling. We have alot of packaging from stock deliveries on a weekly basis. Our old magazines will go in this box. Although should anyone know a place that would benefit from these magazines please let us know.

Food Waste

Do you have a compost bin on your kitchen counter? Well so do we, teabags, fruit waste will be recycled into our compost bin in the our garden at the back of the salon. We are doing our bit on our tiny patch on this planet, that we all need to look after.
